Be Fonz

BIO

Black Fonzarelli is an emcee/producer from Richmond, VA. Formerly known as L.I.L MAC, and founding member of the now defunct group Ravenous Munkz. Lyrically he likes to mix his influences from wisdom traditions with his overriding love for golden era styled rap music. Maestro formerly known as C-Priest is a long-time collaborator with Black Fonz and also the owner of Rugged Cross Productions which features the group the Back Row Choir Boys.

In his 20’s, Fonzarelli played a big role in promoting shows and events for artists in and around Richmond, Va., helping to set the foundation of what other talented artists around the city have helped grow it into currently. He left the music scene to focus on some of his other talents and responsibilities. He coaches youth football, soccer, and basketball. He also, personal trains student-athletes of all ages and mentors youth in his community.

The decision to pick the mic back up has been on again off again but the love for the culture was the main factor in his reemergence. His last album came out in 2006 (Heal The Land 2) and his latest offering Piece Of Peace shows the major growth he and Maestro underwent both as men and creatively. Piece of Peace’s lead single is Debbie and Phylicia which is a self-described ode to beautiful mature black women like sisters Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad. The album is 14 tracks long and shows the diversity of both Black Fonzarelli and Maestro.

The future is bright for this recommitted emcee/producer and his right hand man Maestro. Stay tuned and Be Fonz.
